Barrett Hospital & HealthCare celebrates 100 years
Where people come first. 100 years and counting.

Born from the generosity of local donors in 1922, Barrett Hospital & HealthCare has served the people of Southwest Montana for 100 years. Together, we’ve accomplished a lot. Barrett Hospital & HealthCare is repeatedly ranked as a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital—10-time recipient—and is a four-time recipient of the Top 20 Critical Access Hospital honors. Additionally, the healthcare system is recognized for dedication to high quality patient care and commitment to improving services. Through ongoing community support, Barrett Hospital & HealthCare has grown from the three-story pressed-brick building in 1922 to an integrated healthcare system with multiple facilities including a state-of-the-art hospital, primary care and specialty clinics, vein care center, home health and hospice services, and a full range of services typically found at larger healthcare systems.
Of course, one cannot reach 100 years without challenges and opportunities. We’ve celebrated wins and supported each other through losses. And while many things have changed, the dedication of our providers, staff and leaders remains the same, and will carry us through the next hundred years.
A century of service worth celebrating
2022 is a year to celebrate our rich history at Barrett Hospital & HealthCare—and the dedication to excellence that continues today. We honor the individuals who saw the need to care for the ranchers, farmers, and hardworking families in Beaverhead County and the surrounding areas—and recognize the men and women following in those footsteps today.
