Western Vein Care Center
You don’t have to live with venous problems such as leg pain, swelling, heaviness, fatigue or unsightly varicose veins. Western Vein Care Center is pleased to offer complete vein care with evaluation, diagnosis and specialized treatment of vein diseases. We offer a full range of services including:
Vascular consultation. We focus on the diagnosis and management of a wide variety of venous and arterial diseases. From varicose veins to arterial aneurysms, our vascular specialist provides skilled care for these conditions throughout your life.
Endovenous thermal ablation (radiofrequency ablation or RFA). This newer technique uses the localized application of heat to treat refluxing (backwards blood flow) or incompetent veins in the superficial venous system. This treatment closes the problem veins but leaves them in place so there is minimal bleeding and bruising.
VenaSeal™. The VenaSeal closure system treats symptomatic venous reflux disease in the lower extremity superficial venous system, often the underlying cause of painful varicose veins. A specialized catheter is advanced into the diseased vein under ultrasound guidance and precisely placed in the proper position. An adhesive is then used to close the refluxing vein.
Ultrasound guided foam sclerotherapy. This procedure is used for treating medium to large varicose veins with minimal scarring. The technique is designed to close varicose veins causing the problem vein to shrink or possibly disappear. During the procedure, a specialized medical foam is injected into the vein, using ultrasound guidance to locate the desired vein. This treatment is a significant advancement in the treatment of diseased veins, because ultrasound technology helps physicians to see dilated veins that are not entirely visible on the surface of the skin.
Microphlebectomy. This procedure is performed to remove bulging varicose veins through small, slit like punctures in your skin. This minimally invasive procedure is performed in the physician’s office using local anesthesia, which allows for minimal downtime.
Dr. Fortenberry is a vascular specialist with more than 28 years of experience in vein disease and surgery. He will evaluate, diagnose and perform minimally invasive vein procedures, comfortably and safely, in an office setting without the need for general anesthesia. And healing is fast, so patients often return to regular activities very quickly after treatment.
While under Dr. Fortenberry’s care, an experienced dedicated sonographer manages your ultrasound exam. From your first consultation to the final visit, trust that skilled compassionate medical staff will be with you at every stage of your evaluation, treatment and follow-up care.
What is the Western Vein Care Center — a service by Barrett Hospital & HealthCare — difference?
When you get vein care from an established physician who is affiliated with a nationally recognized Top 20 hospital that is rooted in the community, you can trust that you are getting quality care. You are not just a patient, but also a neighbor. Physicians with hospital affiliation are required to have confirmation of education and training. In addition, they have medical resources and hospital privileges to help ensure the safety and appropriate care of patients.
If you’ve struggled with vein conditions long enough, it’s time to find out how Western Vein Care Center treatments can work for you. Not only will your legs look better, but they will feel better after your treatment. And good news, these treatments are covered by most types of medical insurance. We are proud to have two vein evaluation and treatment locations to serve Southwestern Montana and the surrounding areas: Barrett Hospital & HealthCare in Dillon and the Western Vein Care Center in Butte, located in the Westside Professional Building (take Montana Street Exit 126 off of I-90).
