Anita Peterson, CRNA, came to the United States in 1986 after growing up in Germany. She regularly visited a public library, utilizing its services to gain command of the English language. In 1996, Anita earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC). In 2001, she achieved a Master’s in Nurse Anesthesia through UTC’s highly competitive program, which accepted only one in ten applicants. After graduation, Anita was employed by the Anesthesiology Consultants Exchange, anesthesia providers for Erlanger Medical Center, a Level1 trauma center in Chattanooga with an associated Children's Hospital. Here Anita gained extensive experience in pediatric, trauma, and obstetrical anesthesia, and she performed Clinical Instructor duties for students in an anesthesia program. She moved to Montana in 2021 and enjoys serving on the Barrett Hospital & HealthCare patient care team. When away from the hospital, Anita enjoys spending time with her two dogs, hiking, skiing, and traveling back to Germany to visit family and friends.
