Lena graduated with a master’s degree of Clinical Health Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Washington (MEDEX) in 2017. She went on to complete her fellowship in Rural Emergency Medicine at the Mayo Clinic and graduated from this program in 2019. Having previously worked in rural hospitals across the Midwest and Western United States, Lena continues to be an advocate for Rural Physician Assistant Medicine by teaching Comprehensive Advanced Life Support and training rural health providers across the United States. Prior to becoming a PA, Lena had the opportunity to work in prehospital EMS for over a decade, where she served as EMS Director and Paramedic. She has also worked in search and rescue as a wildland fire medic and wilderness EMT and has been involved with FEMA disaster response as a Public Information Officer and Medical Officer. Lena joined Barrett Hospital & HealthCare in 2020.
